Mike Rothwell. Over 25 years of experience within the industry within both volume commercial and luxury operations. During his career he has successfully managed hotels throughout the UK for Macdonald Hotels, Arcadian Hotels and in a regional capacity for Hand Picked Hotels. Significant successes have included producing 90% Profit growth at Chilston Park, Kent during his tenure, and development of the wedding market at Ettington Park, Stratford-upon-Avon from 12 events in 2004 to 107 events in 2008. Mike was instrumental in the rebranding process of Hand Picked following its acquisition of Arcadian Hotels.
Iain Shelton. Has worked in the hospitality business since 1989 and demonstrates extensive managerial and consultancy expertise. Previously Iain was MD of a hotel management company, running a portfolio of properties with a turnover in excess of £20million. As a General Manager he has run both independent country house properties and major group hotels across the main market segments of corporate, conference and leisure from small units turning over £1m to larger chain owned properties with sales over £10m. This blend of experience has given Iain a broad industry knowledge essential to managing hotels in an economic downturn. Since 2007, Iain has held a seat on the Price Waterhouse Coopers turn around panel as a specialist advisor in the hotel sector.
Gareth Pugh. Gareth has over 30 years experience in the hotel industry and has a broad experience of owning and managing a range of different hotels. Gareth has experience with several major groups covering all sectors of hotel markets. In 1999 Gareth purchased The Painswick Hotel and after 5 years of succesful ownership exited in 2004, realising a 70% return on the initial investment. Gareth has held several General Manager positions at some of the UK’s finest hotels and has a proven track record of success. In 2006, Gareth set up a management company with Iain and now manages 10 properties with a combined turnover of over £20m.
